Ginger Mae Hostetler, 68, of South Bend, passed away April 20, 2024. Ginger was born November 11, 1955, daughter to the late William (Peggy) Hostetler and Gloria (Ray) Helsius. She spent her childhood in North Liberty, Indiana. She was a 1974 graduate of North Liberty High School and later earned her LPN certification. Ginger also worked for many years as a switchboard operator for AT&T. On March 14, 1989, Ginger married Robert Micinski who preceded her in death.
Ginger loved the outdoors and spent many hours with Robert walking the trails of Potato Creek State Park and vacationing in the Caribbean Islands. Ginger was a voracious reader, enjoying various topics from Sci-Fi to mystery to cooking.
Ginger is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Daniel) Moryl of South Bend, IN, son, Jeramy (Nancy) Micinski of Frankenmuth, MI, son-in-law Larry Hauguel of Elkhart, IN, and grandchildren Dana (David), Elizabeth, Grace, Seth, and Selah. She also leaves behind many close friends and her beloved cats “Jack and Jill”.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sheila Hauguel, and brothers Shane and Kevin Hostetler.
There will be a Celebration of Life held for Ginger on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Palmer Funeral Home- Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN. In lieu of flowers, you may make memorial contributions to Pet Refuge 4626 S. Burnett Dr. South Bend, IN 46614.
