Barbara Bouwman Obituary

Barbara Sue Bouwman, 71, residing in South Bend, passed away at 2:44 am Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Memorial Hospital. She was born October 31, 1952, in South Bend to the late George McGee and Nellie (Watts) Smith and remained a lifelong area resident.

Barbara married Steven D. Bouwman, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her significant other, William Crocker of South Bend; daughters, Aaron Krawczyk of Mishawaka and Tracy Ford of South Bend; grandson, Zachery Timberlake; granddaughter, Payton Hopkins; and great grandchild, Dakota Lester; as well as her dog, Woody.

Barbara graduated from John Glenn High School and worked as a laundry attendant at Healthwin Specialized Care prior to retirement. She was a very loving and hardworking mom, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

There will be no public services. Barbara will be laid to rest privately at Highland Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
