Jake Plummer, age 85, of North Liberty, passed away Wednesday morning in his home. Jake was a Route Salesman and worked for various companies for over 40 years. Jake was born on August 21, 1938 in Lakeville to the late Joseph O. and Pearl A. (Laughman) Plummer and lived in this area all of his life.
On April 12, 1958 in Lakeville, he married Gail Ann Ruehle who preceded him in death on July 3, 2023. Survivors include two daughters, Tracie (Ronald) Clark of Odon, IN and Janna L. Plothow of Noblesville, IN, three sons, Randy S. (Milissa Richards) Plummer of Walkerton, Kelley J. Plummer of Berrien Center, MI, Bobby J. Plummer of Warsaw, IN, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two sisters, Lelia Masten and Jean Rice, both of Mishawaka.
One son, Ricky, five sisters, Martha Stanage, Donabelle Nolan, Evelyn Rice, Iris Tortorelli, Helen Plummer-Knepp and eight brothers, Glen S., Richard, Joseph, Lynn, Danny, Robert O., John D., and James L. Plummer all preceded Jake in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 3rd at Gospel Center Missionary Church, 930 South 30th St. South Bend, IN 46615. Friends may gather with the family two hours prior to services at the church. Burial will follow at Porter Rae Cemetery, North Liberty, IN. (For family only)
Jake was a long time member of Gospel Center. He was an avid sports fan; enjoying Notre Dame, the White Sox, Chicago Bears and Bulls. He enjoyed coaching baseball, basketball, soccer and softball.
